A look into my world
Please find below theme-oriented galleries where specially selected photos can be viewed as collections.
I have long thought about how best to structure these collections. Species groups, precise locations, photo techniques… nothing felt quite right. In the end, a combination of those felt it led to what I wanted to achieve: an aspect of storytelling.
Three collections include photos from diverse Dutch habitats. The Netherlands is a vital country for many migratory birds that breed or overwinter here. Our wet meadows, forests, and coastal areas support a broad cast of birdlife - including waders, ducks, and songbirds - throughout the seasons, which I aimed to show in their respective galleries, Dutch Heritage and Coastal Life.
I’m privileged that I’m able to travel. For a few years, almost all my travels have been dedicated to birds. Birdwatching and photography in a new area, country, or habitat present challenges and opportunities. To best tell their stories, these galleries are themed on these countries or areas.
Last, Macro, with a dedicated lens I’ve only been using for a year. Macro is so different from photographing birds that it only felt right to include one broad gallery for all my macro work. I prefer the butterflies, as you’ll soon find out :)
